Charleroi students may have a more traditional prom than originally anticipated.

With capacity restrictions on venues lightening up and vaccinations on the rise, students who sacrificed many of their yearly traditions already might not have to give up their prom.

During Tuesday’s school board meeting, student representative Saragrace Porter told board members about plans so far.

“We have been able to work a more traditional prom than what we were thinking,” she said.

The senior class, which is involved in the planning process, has helped underclassmen prepare for the event as safely and normally as possible.

The prom is scheduled for May 7 at Lakeside Venues in McClellandtown.
