John M. Haller – Donora

John M. Haller, 89, of Donora, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born in Donora on Aug. 22, 1931, a son of the late Sam and Barbara Spehar Haller. John was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, where he actively volunteered with the fish frys and church picnics. A veteran, John served in the Korean War with the United States Air Force. Mr. Haller was an employee for Corning Works in Charleroi for many years, working as a painter. He was a member of the St. Dominic Men’s Club, the Jednota Bowling League and the Croatian Club in Donora. John was proud of his heritage and loved listening to Croatian music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Rose; and two brothers, Nicholas Haller and Anthony “Tony” Haller. Surviving to cherish his memory are a sister, Kathryn A. Haller of Donora; a brother, Joseph Haller of Donora; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Haller of Carroll Township; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a great-great-niece.
