Robert Sevich, 93 of Monongahela, Victory Hill, died Tuesday, March 9, 2021. He was born Aug. 22, 1927, in Du-quesne, son of Vid and Mary Vekich Sevich. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, Mr. Sevich began working at the former Carnegie Steel Mill in Duquesne and then American Steel & Wire in Donora. He was always proud to have been named the first police chief of Carroll Township and eventually retired as a supervisor for Fox Grocery in Belle Vernon. He was a member of “The Church” in Sutersville. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Marion Jean Havrilesko Sevich; two sons, Dale R. Sevich of Monongahela and Larry M. (Lorraine) Sevich of Ohio; two granddaughters, Victoria and Anna Sevich; and a niece, Linda Sevich. Preceding him in death was an infant son, John J. Sevich; a brother, Michael Sevich; and two sisters, Julie Graovak and Dorothy Sevich. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, Monday, March 15, 2021, from 3 to 7:30 p.m., at which time a service will begin with Pastor Frank Rocco officiating. A memorial service will planned at a later date. In order to be compliant with our state guidelines, masks must be worn and social distancing be maintained.
