Dolores Matush – Monessen

Dolores Matush, 90, of Monessen, died Thursday, March 4, 2021, in Mon Valley Hospital Inc. Born in East Pittsburgh on Nov. 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late George and Julia Tabak. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 194 and the former Croatian Home. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L “Turk” Matush; a son, Michael Matush Jr.; and two brothers, George and Albert Tabak. She is survived by a daughter, Debra Safier of Virginia Beach; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Patricia Matush of Fayette City, Donald and Elizabeth Matush of Perryopolis and William and Amy Matush of Monessen; eight grandchildren, Brianna Matush, Nathan Safier, Lacey Chaussinand, Lara Jones, Jacob, Krista, Coby and Bailey Matush; three great-grandsons, Mason Joel Stover, Maddox Stover and Luke Jones; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Elizabeth Tabak of Georgia; and a sister, Betty Green of New Orleans. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen, www.billicksfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday in the funeral home with Father Michael Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinths Cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face coverings and social distancing are required.
