Nicholas ‘Nick’ Tarpley – Donora

By obits

Nicholas Tarpley, better known as “Nick,” 28, of Donora, departed this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, while doing one of the things he had a passion for —cooking. He was born on June 29, 1992, the son of the late Nathaniel Blackman. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anna Lee and James Tarpley; and grandfather, Nathaniel Blackman Sr. Nick was a 2011 graduate of Ringgold High School. During his time at Ringgold, he was on the track team and was an excellent wrestler on the wrestling team. After graduation, he attended business school and a culinary school. He was employed as a cook at Speers Street Grill, Lower Speers, Belle Vernon and was part-owner and cook at Anna Lee’s Convenience Store in Donora. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his mother, Stacey Tarpley of Donora; one sister, Brittany Moore of Monessen; and three brothers, Andre Wilkerson, Nathaniel Blackman and Kendrick Tarpley, all of Donora; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Everyone and anyone who knew or even came in contact with Nick loved him and loved that infectious smile he had. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Family and friends will be received from 10 to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021, at First Baptist Church, 541 Allen Ave., Donora, where a funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Gary P. Yarbrough, pastor of Interfaith Assembly for Christ Church, Uniontown, officiating. Eulogy will be given by Pastor Philip Pagliari of Valley Remnant Church of Rostraver. Quallan T. Hawkins is pastor of First Baptist Church, Donora. Final celebrations are entrusted to MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, PA 15063, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com.
