Joseph Paul Galayda – Pricedale

Joseph Paul Galayda, 93, of Pricedale, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. A son of the late Joseph and Helen Gyruchko Galayda, he was born in Grindstone on March 15, 1927. Joe previously resided in Boca Raton, Fla., where he loved scuba diving, the ocean and being a lifeguard. He had been employed as an elementary teacher in Webster and in Florida. A U.S. Navy veteran, Joe was a member of the former Turner’s club in Monessen. He is survived by two brothers and a sister in-law, James and Andrea Galayda of West Newton and Frank Galayda of Utah; lifelong friend, John “Butch” Sturlese of New Eagle; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Galayda and two sisters, Liz Bennett and Emma Maione. There will be no public visitation or services.
