Dorothy J. Vizza, 85, of Monessen, passed away on Wednesday March 3, 2021, in Hallsworth House, Monessen. She was born on March 18, 1935, in Coal Center, the daughter of the late Alexander P. and Henrietta B. Schoener Sileskie. Dorothy had worked as a manager for several different clothing factories in the Mon Valley, including Charland and Perry Manufacturing. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen. Dorothy was an avid card player and enjoyed going to Wheeling Downs and the Meadows. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred “Efo” Vizza in 1991; her dear friend, Joseph “Joe” Mondi; two brothers, Charles W. and Alexander J. Sileskie; five sisters, Margaret A. “Peg” Shupink, Bernadine D. “Bern” Spencer, Catherine M. “Kate” McGurk, Elizabeth A. “Bette” Underwood and Henrietta A. Spencer; two brothers-in-law, Joseph (Joann) Vizza and Ralph Nicksich; and by a sister-in-law, Irene Vizza. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Rosalie Nicksich of Monessen; brother-in-law, Frank “Moe” (Becky Wilson) Vizza of Belle Vernon; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received in DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, on Friday, March 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. Services will be held with a 9:30 a.m. blessing on Saturday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Entombment will follow in Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum, Monessen. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd. Monessen, PA 15062, in Dorothy’s name.
