Nicholas ‘Nick’ Clarence Coban – McKeesport

  Nicholas “Nick” Clarence Coban, age 90, of McKeesport, died Feb. 28, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport. Born March 24, 1930, in Versailles Borough, he was the son of the late Anthony and Pauline Selac Coban and the husband of Eleanor Holden Coban for 66 beautiful years. Nick retired from EQT as a crew leader and was a Korean War Army Air Corps veteran. He was a member of the Eleventh Ward Club, Croatian Club in Versailles and a former member of Sacred Heart Church. He was an avid tennis player and softball player all the way into his 80s. Nick was an outdoorsman and spent a lot of his time either in his garden growing tomatoes, hiking, fishing or hunting. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Nick (Kathleen) Coban of McKeesport and Janice (Jim) Coban of Johnstown; grandchildren, Robert (Nicole) Belcher, Amanda (Matt) Coban, Nicholas (Christine) Coban, Micheal (Debra) Belcher, Christian Datel, Blaise (Brianna) Datel and Anthony Coban; great-grandchildren, Talia, Logan, Gianna, Luka, Lily, Emma, Nora Jane, Vanessa and baby Coban on the way; many nieces and nephews; and his cat, Socks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, infant Steven, Steven, Mary, Annie, George, Frank, Andrew, Joseph (in World War II), Katherine, Zora and John. Family and friends may be received at WILLIG FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, McKeesport, from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021. A memorial service will follow.
