Emotions were high Wednesday evening near the scene of a fatal shooting at a convenience store in Donora.

Washington County Coroner S. Timothy Warco identified the victim as 28-year-old Nicholas Tarpley of Donora.

Warco said Tarpley was part-owner of Anna Lee’s Convenience Store at 501 Allen Ave., which is the site of the shooting.

A large presence of state troopers and Donora police were on scene outside of the store at the intersection of Fifth Street and Allen Avenue. A large group of the victim’s family members and friends stood across the street waiting to hear from those investigators while  consoling one another.

The family members, who didn’t want to share their names, through tears said the victim was a good person.

“He didn’t deserve this,” one of the victim’s female relatives said.
