Jeanne D. Chevine – West Newton, formerly of Monongahela

Jeanne D. Chevine, 78, of West Newton, formerly of Monongahela, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, in the Haven Crest Nursing Center, Monongahela. She was born March 16, 1942, in Monongahela, the daughter of Frederick L. and Irene Jean Kesterson DeCroix. Jeanne was baptized at the First United Methodist Church in Monongahela, where she was a former member. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at several nursing homes in the Monongahela area and had volunteered her time at the food bank in Belle Vernon. She enjoyed spending time with her two dogs, Toohey and Terri. She is survived by her son, Christopher L. Chevine of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and her daughter, Theresa E. Cook and husband Thomas of Menifee, Calif.; grandchildren, Emma L. and A.J. Cook; sister, Bonnie Scaglione and husband David; and brother, James M. DeCroix, all of New Eagle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Chevine, who died May 14, 1983; and a brother, Frederick L. DeCroix Jr. There will be no visitations or services. Arrangements are under the direction of the FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., Monongahela. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
