Henry Joseph Marini – Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Monongahela

By obits

Henry Joseph Marini was born in Belle Vernon, on July 22, 1916, to Amos and Clara Sylvester Marini. When he met and married Angela Curcio of Monongahela in 1938, that is where they lived thereafter. The majority of those years, Henry was a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office, first on the mail truck, then walking the often cold, snowy hills throughout Monongahela and ending up delivering the mail to the downtown business district for a number of years. He absolutely loved his job, especially interacting with all the people on his various routes and with his post office co-workers — he seemed to know everyone in Monongahela! Shortly after retirement in 1985, Henry and Angela moved to the beautiful Valley of the Sun, in Sun City West, Ariz., where they enjoyed tremendously the year-round great weather and met many, many new friends. In 1995, Henry moved to the lovely Chaparral Winds Retirement Community close by, where he was well known for his upbeat personality and wit. He lived there happily until his passing on Feb. 2, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Curcio Marini, who passed in 1987; brothers, Thomas Marini, who died in childhood and Jordon Marini; and sister-in-law, Linda Curcio Sichi. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Marini Durler and husband Michael of Sun City, Ariz.; granddaughter, Kimberly Durler Simpson and husband Brian; grandson, Logan Michael Lee of Sandy, Utah; sister-in-law, Diana Curcio Shoulders and husband Jack of Monongahela. Henry was laid to rest in the Monongahela Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., Monongahela.
