Darlene R. Strickler Diethorn, 83, of North Belle Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at Faidley House, Monongahela. Born Feb. 7, 1938, in Connellsville, she was the daughter of the late William and Clara Bell Thompson Strickler. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Diethorn was a homemaker and belonged to various card clubs. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Allen of Charleroi and Laurie Harris of Uniontown; sons and daughter-in-law, Walter and Lisa Diethorn Jr. of Monessen and Matthew Diethorn of Belle Vernon; brother and sister-in-law, James and Elga Strickler of Vanderbilt; sisters, Betty Lerch of Vanderbilt, Anna Fike of Painesville, Ohio; grandchildren, Michael Allen, Mark Allen, Mindy Harris, Joshua Harris, Zachary Harris, Walter Diethorn III, David Diethorn, Daniel Diethorn, Deanna Diethorn and fiancé Bryant Hunter; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Allen, Madalyn Cherry, Jacob Cherry, Louise Diethorn, Emmett Diethorn, Jared Diethorn and Evelyn Hunter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Diethorn; brothers, William Strickler Jr. and Bud Strickler; and sister, Shirley Crouch. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Private funeral services will take place Thursday, followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In accordance with state mandates, masks MUST be worn and social distancing must be maintained.
