Christine M. Ritacco – Castle Shannon, formerly of Charleroi and Monessen

Christine M. Ritacco, 75, of Castle Shannon, formerly of Charleroi and Monessen, following a 27-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, with her beloved husband by her side. She was born on Nov. 17, 1945, in North Charleroi, to the late Margaret and John Stofan of Monessen. She was a devoted and loving wife of 51 years and a very caring and loving mother to her two cherished children. She was a 1963 graduate of Monessen High School and a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She is survived by her devoted husband and caregiver, Joseph S. Ritacco; and is the mother of Kari Jo Ritacco Walker of Leesburg, Va., and Joseph J. Ritacco of Pittsburgh; grandmother of Chloe Emma and Kenzie Ava Walker; and sister of Elizabeth Lutz, Joan Kacik and Joseph Stofan. A special thank you for the wonderful kindness and compassion given to Christine from Bernie, Michelle and Beth of Gallagher Hospice. Also a thank you to Joy of Visiting Angels, who was a special friend and companion for over two years. Contributions in Christine’s name can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, 575 Lincoln Ave., Bellevue PA 15202. Visitation and services were held privately.
