Dorothy Joan Sukla, 97, of Fairfield, Ohio, formerly of Donora, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021. She was born on Dec. 31, 1923, in Donora, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Oley Griger. She was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish and the Christian Mothers and Womans Guild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sukla; a sister, Mary Smoker; and five brothers, Edward, Joseph, Rudy, Paul and Thomas Griger. Surviving to cherish her memory are a daughter, Patricia (Tony) Sendelbach of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Robert (Jan) Sukla of Waldorf, Md.; three grandchildren, Carianne (Michael) Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio, Scott (Kristie) Fugich of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Michael (Stephanie) Fugich of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren, Tre Fugich, Sydney Fugich, Joseph Fugich, Ryleigh Fearn, Brinley Fearn and Ethan Fugich. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021. Interment will follow at Monongahela Cemetery. To be socially responsible during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to limit the attendance to 25 people inside the funeral home at any given time. Guests are asked to obey social distancing guidelines and personal protection guidelines which include masks within the funeral home. Guests may be asked to limit their visitation times so that all visitors will have the opportunity to pay their respects. Thank you.
