By obits

Kyle Thomas Niccolai, 35, of Rural Valley, Pa., formerly of California, Pa., died unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, in his home. He was born Monday, Nov. 25, 1985, in Richmond, Va. Kyle was the son of Barry Niccolai. He was a member of Pittsburgh Sprinkler Fitters Local 542. He was active in the recovery community in and around Beaver County and for a time managed the Second Step Recovery House. Addiction did not define Kyle; it was a disease with which he lived and to which he lost his life — a life that was filled with laughter and an enormous smile that lit up the room. He considered the birth of his daughter, Amelia Grace, to be the greatest achievement of his life. Kyle was preceded in death by biological father, Eric Backherms. Left to cherish his memory in addition to his father, Barry, are his fiancée, Sara Nolf and her son Matthew Bowser; newborn daughter, Amelia Grace Niccolai; siblings, Aaron Jaeger, Danielle Dansby and Cory Jaeger; grandmother, Joan Niccolai; aunt, Kelly Niccolai; uncle, Brian Niccolai and wife Amy; cousins, Breanne and Nicholas Fedeli, Mitchell Niccolai and wife Bianca, Helena Wolenski, Agatha Niccolai and a host of extended family. His biological mother, Joanne Jaeger Guyan, also survives. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa. A celebration of Kyle’s life will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established to provide support for Amelia. Please make payable to Amelia Grace Niccolai, c/o Barry Niccolai, 616 Wood St., California, PA 15419.
