William M. Kusmirak, 78, of Rostraver, passed away on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at Allegheny General Hospital. A son of the late Frank and Ann Sura Kusmirak, he was born in Donora on Nov. 27, 1942. A resident of Rostraver most of his adult life, William was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and the Donora Elks. During his high school years, he worked at the former Redwood Restaurant in Donora. William attended Ole Miss on a baseball scholarship and finished his degree at Cal U. He had been employed as a speech therapist at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit for 35 years, serving students in Clairton, South Allegheny and West Mifflin and retiring in 2001. William enjoyed fishing with his son at Twin Lakes, the Meadows Casino and was an avid car enthusiast. William is survived by a son, William J. Kusmirak of Rostraver; a sister, Nancy Grimes of Donora; a sister in-law, Joan (Joseph) DeAngelis of Greensburg; a brother-in-law, Randy Tordi of Charleroi; nephews and nieces, Robert (Susan) Grimes of Oakdale, Frank (Lynn) Grimes of Belle Vernon, and Evan (Sarah) DeAngelis of Fort Mill, S.C.; a great-nephew, Luke DeAngelis; and a grand dog, Dolly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Tordi Kusmirak, on April 5, 2011; and a brother-in-law, Terry Grimes. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300. Face masks are required in the funeral home. A blessing will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with Father Michael Crookston as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
