The search continues for a Donora man wanted in the fatal shooting of a man in the city of Washington Tuesday and the wounding of another man in Donora a short while later.
A vehicle believed to have been operated by the suspect, Zackory James Sadler, 36, of Donora was found Wednesday in West Alexander.
Sadler is accused of killing Darnell Steven Brown, 41, of Washington in the parking lot of the Family Dollar on Highland Avenue in Washington at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday.
He is also believed to have shot an as-yet-unidentified man in Donora at 4:28 p.m. That victim was shot in the leg and foot.
Donora Police Superintendent Jim Brice told the Mon Valley Independent the shooter was seen leaving the area in a black BMW that Washington County emergency dispatchers later said was reported stolen.
According to Washington Detective John Hritz, the BMW Sadler reportedly was operating was recovered in West Alexander, a small rural community that is part of Donegal Township.
Hritz said there are no reports of any vehicles being stolen from West Alexander and it is not known how or if Sadler left the town.
“We don’t have much to work with right now,” Hritz said. “We’ve been getting a lot of tips.”
