Shirley A. Hoke, 58, of Elizabeth, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2021. She was born Dec. 3, 1962, at Fort Eustis, Va., a daughter of the late Alvie D. and Mary Lewis Hoke. Shirley loved life, country music and Native American folklore. She was a strong woman and a loving mother and sister. Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Hoke and Jodie Davis; sisters, Darlene Steiner, Mary Marlene Beaken and Debra Lynagh; a brother, Alvie J. Hoke and wife Amber; her life partner, Ralph Shuttleworth; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Christopher Steiner Jr.; and Frederick Lewis Davis Jr. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at J. WILLIAM MCCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME, 901 Vine St., West Newton. Masks must be worn and social distancing must be maintained. The number of people permitted in the funeral home at one time is 40, so please limit your visit out of respect for others. The funeral service and burial will be private.
