Daniel J. Truskey, 62, of Coal Center, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, in Monongahela Valley Hospital due to complications from COVID- 19. A son of Elmer and Patricia Barton Truskey, who survive and reside in Long Branch and his godmother, Elizabeth Pfrogner of California, Pa., he was born in North Charleroi on Nov. 16, 1958. A resident of Coal Center for the past 29 years, Daniel had been employed as a detail manager at John Sisson Mercedes/Nissan in Washington, Pa. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in California, Pa., Sons of the America Legion in Roscoe, Sons of Italy in Perryopolis, Belgium Club in Charleroi, Russian Club in Charleroi, French Club in Monessen and the Daisytown Hungarian Club. Daniel was a former Boy Scout leader during his son’s younger years. He loved working on cars with his son, good times by the pool with his family and traveling to Ocean City and the Outer Banks with Lisa. Daniel was an outdoorsman and history buff. He loved hunting, bonfires and watching “Jeopardy.” He had a black lab-golden retriever, Shelby, that he put down in February 2020 and now loved his delightful mixed breed, George. In addition to his parents and godmother, he is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lisa Truskey; a son, D.J. Truskey of Coal Center; a daughter, Lauren Truskey and her boyfriend, Nick Longo, both of Philadelphia; and a sister, Colleen Haftman of Charleroi. There will be no public visitation at this time. There will be a celebration of life at a date and time to be announced.
