After nearly three months of remote learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students in the Ringgold School District returned to classes this week.
The decision was made Jan. 20 by school directors, who voted 8-1 to give students the option to return to in-class learning Monday. School director Jim Dodd cast the lone no vote on the motion.
According to school officials, Monday’s classes went without a hitch.
“They went fairly well,” school board President Bill Stein said. “I haven’t heard anything negative yet.”
Since the start of the 2020-21 school year, the district has given students three options for learning: traditional classroom learning; remote synchronous learning; and the district’s Cyber Academy.
