Paws Across Pittsburgh to hold virtual fundraisers

With pandemic restrictions preventing large gatherings, nonprofit organizations have had to get clever about the way fundraisers and outreach events are held.

And animal lovers will tell you that animal shelters and rescue organizations are constantly in need of monetary donations — even in non-pandemic times — to keep up with shelter maintenance and overhead, to pay veterinarian bills and buy food and supplies for rescued or surrendered furry, scaly and/or feathered friends.

Taking pandemic restrictions into account, Paws Across Pittsburgh animal rescue, which has dog and cat foster families across the Mon Valley, has announced two virtual fundraisers: an event to see a litter of young puppies and talk about Paws programs, and an online cash bash.

Puppy Wags & Paws Swag

The Puppy Wags & Paws Swag Facebook Live event is slated for 8 to 9:15 p.m. Feb. 5

“We will reveal a litter of nine puppies and begin taking applications for them to go to their forever homes,” said Diane Raible, who runs Paws Across Pittsburgh’s Dolly’s Dogs program out of her White Oak home. “We will also be showing off the new PAWS merchandise available for purchase.”
