Monessen put an end to a four-game losing streak with a 51-18 non-section triumph over visiting Propel Andrew Street Wednesday.
The Greyhounds (5-5) wreaked havoc on the defensive end of the floor, making things difficult for Propel’s offense while forcing 27 turnovers.
“We played better defensively and we were moving better, so it gave us opportunities to get out in transition and score easy baskets,” Monessen head coach Dan Bosnic said. “That was really a big difference maker for us.”
The play of junior Kody Kuhns helped set the tone for Monessen, especially in the third quarter. Kuhns, who provided a steady presence inside for the Hounds, scored 10 of his game-high 16 points in the eight minutes following halftime.
“We were able to make plays through our defense and get him easy opportunities,” Bosnic said. “He made some big plays in the half-court set, too.”
