Armand J. “Cack” Costantino, 71, of Charleroi, passed away on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021. Born on April 6, 1949, he was the son of the late Angelo “Cack” and Mary Margaret Archiletti Costantino. Cack had ambition to be a police officer and his goal was to be the chief of police in his hometown of Charleroi. He achieved that goal and retired as the Charleroi police chief, where he was a competent officer who protected the community he loved. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 10th St. AC, Charleroi Archery and Fishing Clubs and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Penguins and baseball, and enjoyed collecting baseball cards. Always seen around town with a smile and pleasant demeanor, Cack will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife, Paula Stover Costantino; sons, Jeffrey “Cack” Costantino and wife Charity of Fallowfield Township and Joseph “Cack” Costantino and wife Heather of Monongahela; step-children, Nicole Jackowski of Marianna and Matthew Crowe and wife Lisa of Greensburg; grandchildren, Makenley Costantino, Caleb and Jenna Crowe and Max and Megan Shrader; brother, James “Cack” Costantino and wife Kathryn of Carroll Township; nephew, Brendan “Cack” Costantino, of Carroll Township; niece, Emily “Cack” Costantino, of Carroll Township; and his buddy, Leo. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Russell “Cack” Costantino. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Charleroi, (Mary, Mother of the Church), with interment following in Monongahela Cemetery. Guests are asked to meet at the church Saturday. CDC guidelines are to be followed at the funeral home and church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Cack’s name may be made to the Southwest Regional FOP Lodge 87, c/o Chief Chad Zelinsky, Charleroi Regional Police Department, 338 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA, 15022.
