Penny A. Tosi Wright, 83, of Greenock, formerly of Monongahela, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, in Riverside Care Center, McKeesport. Born Jan. 23, 1937, in Fredericktown, she was the daughter of Peter Sr. and Caroline Ponzetti Tosi. A 1955 graduate of East Bethlehem High School, Penny worked as a cashier at the Rostraver Ice Gardens and soon after married Richard F. “Dick” Wright on Aug. 11, 1956, and together opened the Carousel Lounge in Monongahela where they continued working for the next 20 years. After closing the bar, they moved to Newport Ritchie, Fla., where they lived for 30 years before returning back home. An avid walker, she was a member of the former St. Anthony Catholic Church in Monongahela and was currently attending Mary Mother of God Parish (St. Patrick’s) in McKeesport. Surviving in addition to her husband, are two sons, Richard F. Wright III and wife Denise of Greenock, and Scott Wright of Washington; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and husband Dan Drnach of Donora; two brothers, Charles “Willie” (Louise) Tosi of Mentor, Ohio, and Elmer Tosi of Palm Springs, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Amy (Dr. Stephen) Bader, Daniel II (Martha)  Drnach, Laura (Jason) Rock, Richard IV and Maxwell Wright, Scott (Whitney) Wright, Nicole (Vinnie) Destefano and Zachary (Maria) Wright; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Kite and husband Roy of Carmichaels. Preceding her in death were four brothers, John and Nicholas Marchisio and Robert and Peter Tosi Jr.; and three sisters, Margaret Metris, Matilda Davis and Bertina O’Neil. Friends will be received at the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, with Deacon Al Poroda officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. Those who are unable to attend the visitation or funeral are encouraged to sign the online guestbook at marshallmarrafuneralhome.com.
