Daniel Joseph Paradise, age 73, of Elizabeth Township, died on Jan. 18, 2021, in Pittsburgh with his wife and sister by his side. Born in McKeesport on April 17, 1947, he is the son of the late Peter and Anna Charok Paradise and the husband of Melanie Pollack Paradise. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam War veteran. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as the postmaster in Webster. Known to many of his friends as Uncle Dan, he was a member of the Castaway Yacht club, where he was an avid boater on the Yough Lake. He was a board member and sergeant at arms at the White Oak American Legion, Post 701. He enjoyed shooting pool and singing karaoke with his buddies. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sister, Nadine Paradise Campbell of Jefferson Hills; brother-in-law, Wayne Doyle of Irwin; and nieces, Heather Doyle and Carrie Doyle Yanez; and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anita Paradise Doyle; and brother-in-law, Dean James Campbell. A gathering will take place at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES INC., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 1513, Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177, from 10 to noon, at which time services will take place, on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021. A celebration of life will be announced for a later date. Should friends desire, memorial contributions in Dan’s name may be sent to Homeless Veterans in care of White Oak American Legion Post 701, 2813 Capitol St., White Oak, PA 15131. The family and our team members appreciate that all visitors follow current CDC guidelines including wearing of masks, social distancing and capacity limits. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
