Larry McCloy – Stockdale

Larry McCloy, 70, of Stockdale passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born in North Charleroi on Nov. 14, 1950, son of Dorothy Savage McCloy of Stockdale and the late Grant “Buster” McCloy. Larry had served in the National Guard and was retired from the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Allenport plant. He was a lifelong member of Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department No. 17. Larry was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and loved all other sports as well. He was a 1969 graduate of Charleroi High School. Besides his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Holly McCloy of Roscoe; a son, Scott (fiancée, Cierra Campbell) of Canonsburg; his constant companion, Rita Sloan of Stockdale; a brother, Gary “Peanuts” McCloy of Stockdale; a sister, Cindy (David) Lehr of Speers; his ex-wife, Marilyn Popelas McCloy of Roscoe; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, George “Rusty” McCloy; and his furry companion, Tucker. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2021.
