Despite allowing a goal 21 seconds into its game against Trinity Thursday night, the Ringgold hockey team bounced back to stay unbeaten with a 7-2 victory in PIHL Class B action at the Rostraver Ice Garden.
Nathan Boulanger, the leading scorer in Class B, paced Ringgold (9-0-0) with four goals, while Ken Cadwallader picked up a goal and two assists.
The Rams entered the contest outscoring their opponents, 69-13, while the Hillers (0-5-0) had been beaten on the scoreboard, 32-2, on the year. Ringgold outshot Trinity by a 59-8 margin on the night and forced Hillers goalie Chase Bitz to make 52 saves.
“(Bitz) played one hell of a game and we lost our composure,” Rams coach Rick Kalinowski said. “The kids were just frustrated and they were trying to force things. When you do that, you can’t score. We were out of position and that hurt.”
