Joseph A. Patch Jr., 83, of Donora, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at his residence. Born in McKeesport on July 30, 1937, he was a son of the late Joseph A. Patch Sr. and the late Margaret Kubik Patch. Joe was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army before being discharged on Dec. 31, 1964. Mr. Patch worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years. Joseph’s favorite pastime was going to the Meadows Casino. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Patch; and two grandchildren. Surviving to cherish his memory are three daughters, Dina Vickers of Bethel Park, Nancy Robins of Alexandria, Va., and Jane Patch of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Patch of Ruffs Dale and Rich Patch of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Dani Patch; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Saturday, immediately following visitation, with the Rev. Father Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will be in St. Dominic Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad. To be socially responsible during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to limit the attendance to 25 people inside the funeral home at any given time. Guests are asked to obey social distancing guidelines and personal protection guidelines, which include masks within the funeral home. Guests may be asked to limit their visitation times so that all visitors will have the opportunity to pay their respects. Thank you.
