Barbara J. Sinsley – Belle Vernon

Barbara J. Sinsley, 88, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Lilly Stuchell Nicholson, born in Morgantown, W.Va. on July 21, 1932. A resident of Belle Vernon for most of her adult life, she was a member of the Brownsville Apostolic Temple where she was a pianist for many years and loved doing charity work for the church. Barbara was a caregiver for many years and loved her German Shepards. She raised her current one, Charlie Brown, since he was a puppy. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Carlotta Seftas of Monessen, and Susan and Kel Cate of Marietta, Ga.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Brenda Sinsley of Belle Vernon and David and Lia Sinsley of Coolidge, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, Jason and Mark Seftas, Aaron, Daniel and Sophia Sinsley, Chelsea and Alisa Sinsley, Meagan Hara and Brianne and Brandon Cate; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Tkach, Lyle Hara and Della and Lilybelle Sinsley; and a sister-in-law, Joanne Sellars of Bethel Park. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle W. Sinsley on July 6, 2015; two brothers, Charles and William Nicholson; and five sisters, Violet Cobb, Velva Summers, Florence Gopp, Emma Bubenko and Edna Royce. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ronald Shumar officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Face masks are required in the funeral home and social distancing should be practiced.
