Randy ‘Punt’ E. Williams – Pricedale
Randy “Punt” E. Williams, 83, of Pricedale, passed away peacefully on Jan. 5, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pricedale on Sept. 29, 1937, to the late John E. Williams and Anna Mae McGee. He graduated from Rostraver High School in 1956 and went on to join the United States Air Force. He received an honorable discharge in May of 1962. He began working for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation in 1964, where he remained until he retired in 1998. Randy, or “Punt” as he was known by most, loved children. Many of the neighborhood children referred to him as “Pap Pap” because he used to gather many of them for trips to the Dairy Queen and some of the boys even got to go on fishing ventures with him. To some, he was the town barber, football or basketball coach. He also had no problem chastising those who got out of line. He loved good food, fishing, sports, jazz and his cats and would do anything to help anyone, at any time. I was blessed to call him “Dad.” He was an awesome father. The father that believed in summer vacations, grounding you when you needed punished, rewarding your good deeds, helping with homework, sitting down eye to eye for those talks that taught life lessons, playing ball in the front yard and tag through the house; the dad who left awesome memories to cherish. Randy is survived by his daughter, Anita Fields (Charles Neal) of Pricedale; three grandchildren, Alisha Grogan of Gainesville, Fla., Randy West of Pricedale and India Fields of Monessen; five great-grandchildren, Isayah Mosley of Pittsburgh, Jeremyah Grogan of Pricedale, Jazelle and Jaurni Michaux of Monessen and Amani West of Maine; Charles Neal, who was a close friend and helper; the Fields family, Austis, Sommer, Sheena, Sharae and Jermaine Majors, who were very special to him; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Chapel viewing will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, at HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, with the funeral service starting at 6 pm. Elder Benjamin W. Butler of Covenant Church will officiate. We are asking that you wear your mask and social distance. Final celebration has been gently placed in the hands of HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, Karl Jackson, funeral director, 724-379-5420.
