Richard Edward Turko, 83, of Finleyville, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, in Cambridge Creekside, Charleroi. He was born March 15, 1937, in Union Township, the son of John and Nancy Koba Turko. Richard faithfully attended Crossroads Ministries in Library. He retired from the U.S. Army and the Pennsylvania National Guard. For over 25 years, he was employed at U.S. Steel Northside until its closing. He was a member of the Carroll Legion James C. Ford Post 949 in Dunkirk. Richard had a love for tinkering, vegetable gardening and animals. He is survived by his son, Jason and wife Kim Turko of Washington; daughter, Nancy Wolfram and husband Steve Pietracatello of Monongahela; three sisters, Genevieve Masoncupp and Gus Turko, both of Finleyville, Cecelia Wadley of Florida; brother, Frank and wife Kathryn Turko of Finleyville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hillman Turko, who died June 5, 2013; three brothers, Joseph, Edward and John Turko; and two sisters, Agnes Turko and Patricia Pages. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021 with the Rev. Al Finney officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty Four, PA, 15330. In order to be compliant with our state guidelines concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, masks MUST be worn, social distancing maintained and only 25 people are permitted in the funeral home at a time.
