It is with great sadness to announce the passing Carrie Louise Sudor of Monessen on Jan. 4, 2021, she was 95 years old. Carrie was born on Aug. 23, 1925, in Roscoe, Md., to Helen and Jerry Jenkins of Roscoe, Pa. She was married to the late William Sudor in 1955, and established residence in Monessen until the time of their deaths. Carrie graduated from California High School and entered the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps as part of the U.S. Public Health Service. She graduated from Brownsville General Hospital with a diploma from the School of Nursing on Sept. 4, 1947, and went on to a very successful nursing career. She completed her commitment to nursing at Monongahela Valley Hospital, retired full time in the 80s and continued in a part-time capacity beyond that. Carrie was a devoted mother to her daughter, Janet Sudor Siarnicki, who resides in Stevensville, Md., with her husband Ronald Jon Siarnicki, also from Monessen. Carrie is predeceased by her parents. She is also survived by her sister, Laura Jenkins of Goldsboro, Md.; brother, Jimmy Jenkins and wife Jeanne of Morningside, Md.; and sister-in-law, Carol Miller and husband David of McClain, Va.; along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. The family has requested that those wishing to honor Carrie’s life to please consider donating in her name to Monongahela Valley Hospital or Monessen Ambulance. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at which time the service will be held. The family as well as the funeral home, ask that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced. Interment followed at Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
