Mildred M. Magatz – Monessen

Mildred M. Magatz, 90, of Monessen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at her home. She was born on Jan. 6, 1930, in Monessen, the daughter of the late Peter and Stephania Plavetich Beck. Mildred was a resident of Monessen her entire life and a 1947 graduate of Monessen High School. She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, where she helped make pierogies and sang for numerous weddings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Magatz. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Marlene M. (Thomas) Trilli of Rostraver Township; son, George “Gigg” (Karen) Magatz of Monessen; her beloved granddaughters, Stephanie Trilli and fiancé Derek Ostrem and Tiffany Trilli, both of Florida; a brother, Dr. William (Sylvia) Beck of Lake Mary, Fla.; nephew, Lance Beck; and by a great-nephew and great-niece, Kyle and Marie Beck. A private viewing was held Tuesday at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, followed by Divine Liturgy in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church with Father Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment followed in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Condolences accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
