Lynn H. ‘Doc’ Holliday Sr. – Monongahela

Lynn H. “Doc” Holliday Sr., 64, of Monongahela, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. Born May 22, 1956, in New Eagle, he was the son of the late Thales L. and Laura L. Dunseath Holliday. A retired bricklayer, Lynn was a member of the Arroas Haymakers Association No. 258 1/2 in New Eagle and enjoyed hunting, fishing and antique cars. Surviving are a son, Lynn H. Holliday Jr. (Holly Szedon) of Monongahela; and a daughter, Melissa Chacko (Buddy Prosser) of Monongahela; a brother, Roy (Nikki) Holliday of McKeesport and a sister, Emma J. (John) Davis of Forward Township; seven grandchildren, Kaylee Bradshaw, Jayse and Kyndley Holliday, R.J. Johnson, Collin Holliday and Mattison and Logan Chacko; and a special niece and nephews with whom he made his home, Rob, Stacey, Tyler and Jonathan Matthews. Preceding him in death were three sisters, Joyce A. Fine, Diane L. Holliday and Cheryl M. Shaffer. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at which time the service will begin with Rev. Jude Urso officiating. At the family’s request, the funeral will be private and held at a later date. In order to be compliant with our state guidelines, masks must be worn and social distancing be maintained. Memorial donations are being accepted at the funeral home on behalf of the family to help offset funeral costs.
