Dennis Paul Livi, 85, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at home with his wife by his side. Denny was born in Fayette City on Sept. 7, 1935, the youngest child born to the late Alderio and Mary (Dolfi) Livi. On Aug. 1, 1964, Dennis married Sylvia Traversari, she survives. Denny graduated from the former Bellmar High School in 1953. He immediately pursued his undergraduate degree from St. Vincent College. He obtained his master’s degree in education from Duquesne University in 1964 and obtained his school administration certification from Youngstown University. He dedicated his life to 30-plus years in education as a teacher and principal and eventually school superintendent for Penncrest School District. He later served as director of domestic relations for Crawford County for 10 years. He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Parish in Meadville, where he volunteered as a liturgical lector for numerous years. He was a member and officer of the Lions Club of Vernon Township, Wolves Club, the Elks Club and several professional educational organizations. He enjoyed golfing, making wine (in which he won several awards) and mostly spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 56 years, Sylvia, he is also survived by two children; a daughter, Christi Pendolino and her husband Sam of Meadville; and a son, Michael Livi of Buffalo, N.Y. In addition, he is survived by four grandchildren: Francesca Pendolino, Nicholas Pendolino, Gianna Livi and Gabrielle Livi. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by four siblings; Jean Hospodar, Semina Dohan, James Livi and Emil Livi; and five nieces and one nephew. Services were held at St. Mary of Grace Church Meadville, PA 16335 on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020. A mass of Christian burial followed with Father Jeffrey Lucas officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville or St. Mary of Grace Parish, 353 Pine St., Meadville or a charity of your choice.
