John Bartina – Monongahela

John Bartina, 88, of Monongahela, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at Monongahela Valley Hospital in Carroll Township. He was born July 6, 1932, in Donora the son of the late Nick and Frances Verbanich Bartina. He was a member of the St. Andrew the Apostle Parish and a veteran serving with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Volkavich and Ann Houseman; and two brothers, Nick Bartina and Frank Bartina. Survivors include his brother, Joseph Bartina of Charleroi; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021. Funeral services will begin at noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Dominic Cemetery, Donora. To be socially responsible during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to limit the attendance to 25 people inside the funeral home at any given time. Guests are asked to obey social distancing guidelines and personal protection guidelines, which include masks within the funeral home. Guests may be asked to limit their visitation times so that all visitors will have the opportunity to pay their respects. Thank you.
