Monongahela council passed its 2021 budget, which doesn’t include a tax increase for residents, Tuesday morning.
The real estate millage rate for 2021 will hold the line at 7 mills, which translates to 70 cents for each $100 of assessed property valuation.
Other figures from the budget include expenditures of $1,176,920 for public affairs, $1,339,664 for accounts and finance, $204,550 for public safety, $466,242 for streets and improvements and $111,600 for parks and property. That totals $3,298,976 in expenses.
Income for the city totals $3,309,378, which leaves a projected surplus of $10,402.
According to Solicitor Todd Pappasergi, council has until Feb. 15 to make revisions to the budget as long as there is a 10-day public inspection period.
“By Feb. 15, your budget is set in stone,” he said.
