Ernestine Rocca Lackner – Charleroi

By obits

Today we mourn the loss of Ernestine Rocca Lackner, 76, of Charleroi, the most won-derful mother, grandmother, wife, aunt and friend. “Ernie,” to her friends and family, passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, after a two-year battle with cancer. Ernie was a wonderful lady who would light up a room with her quick wit and touch of sarcasm. She could always make you laugh, and she loved to cook and bake. Her amazing meals always included the perfect presentation of beautiful dishes, silverware, napkins and glasses. Ernie always loved the idea of setting the perfect table. Ernie loved to go to dances with her friends, go on cruises and go shopping, when she was not taking care of her family. She was the wife of 58 years to Robert Lackner Sr., dedicated to him and her children, Robert and Annmarie. Ernie was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Marie Rocca; and brother, “Smiling Sam” Rocca. She is survived by husband, Bob; children, Bobby and wife Betty Lackner and Annmarie and husband David Smith; grandchildren, David, Kendall and Lynelle; and more friends and extended family than you could count. She will be heartbreakingly missed by all. Per family wishes, all services will be private and entombment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director, is handling the arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.spallinofuneralhome.com.
