Amelia Petrilak – Charleroi

Amelia Petrilak, 100, of Charleroi, passed away on Dec. 23, 2020. Born on March 15, 1920, she was the daughter of the late George and Justina Tirpak Petrilak. She was a member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Charleroi, where she was very active in church cooking activities. She was a retired teacher for the Charleroi School District, teaching kindergarten and first grade at the old 9th Street school. For the past few years, she has been a resident of Victoria House, where she received wonderful care. Amelia is survived by a nephew, George (Theresa) Carr of Pittsburgh; and niece, Barbara Jean (Leonard) Milletti and son Michael of Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, John and Julius Petrilak; sisters, Olga, Anna, Mary, Helen and Mary Petrilak and Magdaline Carr; and a great-niece, Julie Ann Carr. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Panachida will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Liturgy at 11 a.m. at Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church with Father Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow in Charleroi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, 828 Meadow Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022.
