Thomas R. Weldon Jr. – Belle Vernon

Thomas R. Weldon Jr., 90, of Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020. Born July 9, 1930, in Charleroi, he was the son of the late Thomas R. Weldon Sr. and Bernice May Weldon. He was a resident of Belle Vernon for the past 65 years, a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, graduated from Charleroi High School in 1948, then worked for Bell Telephone for 41 years as a lineman. Tom was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy submarine service aboard the USS Cobbler. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Gillock Weldon, to whom he married 65 years; three children, Kevin Weldon and Lawrence Weldon, both of Belle Vernon, and Patricia Blevins of Warrington, Pa.; two grandsons, Justin and Christopher Blevins; three great-granddaughters; and brother, Patrick Weldon of Charleroi. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Nancy Farkos and Ruth Weldon; and brother, James Weldon. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183, followed by prayers of transfer at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Condolences accepted at the funeral home’s website, www.parzynskifuneralhome.com.
