The man accused of stabbing his pregnant girlfriend and killing his neighbor last week in Coal Center allegedly had an accomplice for at least one of the crimes.

Dylan Lesnik, 28, of Spring Street and his friend, Troy Chiera, 34, of Brownsville, recorded Lesnik’s nine-weeks-pregnant girlfriend, Cassie King, as she lay bleeding on the ground, telling her to say her ex-boyfriend assaulted her, police said.

Lesnik’s alleged spree of violence started Dec. 14 when King was at his apartment.

King told police they had an argument and Lesnik jumped on top of her on a bed and struck her 10 times with a closed fist to her face and her side while screaming that he was going to kill her, an affidavit states.

King said there was a knife near the bed and she grabbed it hoping to defend herself, but Lesnik took the knife and tried to jab it into her stomach, police said.

King tried to block the knife and protect her stomach, managing to get up. When she tried to get away, the criminal complaint states, Lesnik grabbed the knife and swung it across her face, ripping off the bottom of her earlobe.

“Cassie stated there was blood gushing everywhere in the room … at that time she started to lose consciousness and was having a difficult time breathing,” Southwest Regional Police Officer Zlatan Avdic wrote in the affidavit. “Cassie stated that she begged Lesnik to call an ambulance, and that is when she stated he told her he was going to kill her.”

The complaint states that Lesnik called Troy Chiera, who was outside, to come inside the apartment.

“Cassie stated as she attempted to make her way downstairs, she collapsed in the bedroom from her injuries,” Avdic wrote in the complaint. “Cassie stated that is when Troy Chiera entered the residence and made contact with her. … Troy Chiera told her he was an EMT and began treating her.”
