Karen A. Anthony, 63, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, in her home surrounded by her family. A daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Villella Sasko, she was born in Monongahela on Oct. 27, 1957. A 1975 graduate of Ringgold High School, she went on to pursue a career in nursing, tending to patients as an LPN since 1994. Formerly of Carroll Township, Karen had been a resident of Belle Vernon since 1996. She was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Charleroi, where she was extremely involved and served as senior warden for more than eight years. Survivors include her husband of over 40 years, Jay W. Anthony; a daughter, Brooke R. Anthony of Belle Vernon; a son and daughter in-law, Brennan and Amy Anthony of Houston, Pa.; three grandchildren, Jadyn Garbart, Bridget Anthony and Catherine Anthony; a sister, Linda Walters of Donora; and a brother and sister-in-law, Drew and Catherine Sasko of Charleston, S.C. Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 509 Sixth St., Charleroi. Her funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with Father Robert Hanna officiating. Parking is available at the corner of Fifth Street and Lookout Avenue. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
