Catherine T. Fayak Amoroso, 90, of Donora, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at her home. She was born in Monessen on Dec. 12, 1930, a daughter of the late Peter and Mary Kamenicky Fayak. Mrs. Amoroso was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish.
She was a 1947 graduate of Monessen High School.She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a member of the Donora American Legion, Post No. 212 Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory “George” Amoroso on Aug. 14, 2004; a son in-law, James “Krutch” Kruczek; two sisters and one brother in-law, Irene and Albert Fontes and Mary Cope; and a brother in-law and sister in-law, Jim and Louise Amoroso. Surviving to cherish her memory is her daughter, Louise Kruczek of Donora; three sons, Gregory (Nancy) Amoroso of Ohio, William (Nancy) Amoroso of Glassport, and Michael Amoroso of Belle Vernon; Nine grandchildren, Nathan (Janice) Amoroso, Joshua (Erin) Amoroso, Katie Jean (Jamie) Kreiser, Nellie Ann (Joel) Oslowski, Sara Elizabeth Amoroso, Nicholas (Kimberly) Amoroso, Eric (Leslie) Amoroso, Zachery Amoroso, and Stephen Amoroso; 14 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Benjamin, Caleb, Gionna, Marlee, Andrew, Lydia, Lucy, William, Macey, Gavin, Chloe, Oliver, and Lilith; a brother-in-law, Harry Cope; good friends, Edward and Mary Ann Lisovich; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thank you to Amedisys Hospice and their workers Sharon, Ashley, Jessica, Jason, Morgan, Pastor Larry and Pastor Henry for their compassionate care and also to Father Kevin Dominik from St. Andrew the Apostle Parish who visited her frequently.
