A homicide investigation is being conducted after a 27-year-old man was found dead Friday evening in his Coal Center apartment.

State police and Southwest Regional Police are investigating the death of Marshall Y. Craig, whose body was discovered at his Spring Street residence. The cause of death won’t be determined until an autopsy is conducted.

While the body was found in a different unit, state Trooper Robert Broadwater confirmed the building is the same one where Dylan Lesnik, 28, allegedly attacked his pregnant girlfriend with a knife Monday.

Broadwater said that as of Friday evening, there was no correlation between the two incidents.

“However, we are on alert just because several days ago, there was an incident in this residence here,” he said. “It was a different unit, but we’re always cautious about that.”

Lesnik, who remains at large, was charged Thursday with criminal attempt-homicide, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.

“We are aware of that and there is an active warrant for Mr. Lesnik, so if anyone has any information of his whereabouts, contact Southwest Regional Police or the Pennsylvania State Police,” Broadwater said. “Hopefully the public can help us out in locating him.”

Brownsville Ambulance and the California Borough and West Pike Run Township police departments assisted at the scene.
