Cramer resigns from Charleroi Borough council

For the past two years, Charleroi council has had to fill a vacant seat in council chambers.
The trend continued Wednesday as council accepted the resignation of Councilwoman Heidi Cramer.
Cramer, who did not attend the meeting, was elected to the position in January 2018.
Cramer informed Council President Mark Alterici of her decision via email the day after an agenda meeting last Wednesday.
A copy of the email was provided to the Mon Valley Independent prior to Wednesday’s meeting.
In the email, Cramer apologized for her decision — which she attributes to contentious meetings and bickering between council members.
“I am truly sorry to do this, but I feel I can no longer be a part of a council who is constantly bickering with each other.
“I was here to do what is right for our town but every time I walk in these chambers something is always a surprise, someone always trying to make us look like fools to the public, or fellow councilmen or women are backstabbing each other.”
