A resolution was introduced by a group of state lawmakers Friday to dispute Pennsylvania’s 2020 general election results.
The resolution has 25 co-sponsors, including Rep. Bud Cook, R-West Pike Run Township, Eric Davanzo, R-South Huntingdon, and Mike Puskaric, R-Union Township.
The group issued a statement that reads in part:
“A number of compromises of Pennsylvania’s election laws took place during the 2020 general election. The documented irregularities and improprieties associated with mail-in balloting, pre-canvassing and canvassing have undermined our elector process and as a result we can not accept certification of the results in statewide races.”
Cook said the proposed resolution does not necessarily allege fraud. He explained that it’s the state legislature’s responsibility to determine the voting procedures, which it did with Act 77 of 2019, expanding voting by mail.
Cook said Gov. Tom Wolf and the courts stepped in and offered their own versions of the election law.
“Did they follow our directions as spelled out in Act 77? That’s what’s in dispute,” he said.
Cook said he’s received as many as 150 emails a day from supporters alleging various forms of fraud. In each instance, he has given the same response — prove it.
The Trump campaign presented hours of testimony regarding alleged election fraud at a state Senate hearing Wednesday in Gettysburg. Puskaric said those allegations must be fully investigated.
