Elva B. Wapiennik – Rostraver Township

Elva B. Wapiennik, 90, of Rostraver Township, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2020. Born in Wyano on Aug. 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Albin and Leona Johnston Bartron. Elva was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Donora. She enjoyed gardening and especially loved her grandchildren, whom she babysat and spoiled!! She was active in attending all of their activities and sporting events. She is survived by her husband, Carl F. Wapiennik; daughter, Ellen L. (Kim V.) Steadman of Rostraver; grandchildren, Gabriella M. Steadman, Tyler C. Steadman, Ryan T. Wapiennik and Hannah C. Wapiennik; great-granddaughter, Adalynn Wapiennik; sister, Barbara A. Bartron of Lilburn, Ga.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Carl Eric Wapiennik in 2014. Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
