Marilyn June Firden – Elizabeth

Marilyn June Firden, 87, of Elizabeth, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020. She was born on July 18, 1933, in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Stephen and Sophie Prerkawski Makiski.  She was the wife of the late Sherman Firden. Marilyn was a member of Bethesda United Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth and the Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens. She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Wray of South Carolina and Cindy Opfer of Elizabeth; nine grandchildren; nine, soon to be 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation and funeral service were held Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Walt Pietschmann officiated. Inurnment took place at Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth.  Arrangements were by GILBERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Township, 412-751-5000, Drew J.
