The Rev. Edward S. Litavec – Pittsburgh

The Rev. Edward S. Litavec, 86, of Pittsburgh, died Nov. 20, 2020, at Mt. Assisi Place. Born July 24, 1934, in Roscoe, he was the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Mary Bury Litavec. Father Litavec was a graduate of St. Vincent College and St. Vincent Seminary. He was ordained a priest for the Pittsburgh Diocese on March 25, 1960. Pastor to many, he was truly the shepherd of the flock. The Mon Valley will remember the messages of his homilies and his powerful voice singing praises to the Lord. Father Litavec is survived by a brother, Thomas Litavec; sisters, Agnes Braunegg, Anne Krupa, Helen Litavec and Dorothy Reeves; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Paul and John Litavec; and sisters, Mary Krofchek and Susan Braunegg. Family and friends will be received at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Charleroi from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020.
