Joseph Edward LaChapelle, 90, of Belle Vernon, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020. The son of the late Edward and Edith LaChapelle, he was born Nov. 30, 1929, in Glassport. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Joseph attended the Hope Center in Belle Vernon and was a van driver for the Mon Valley Health Center. Survivors include two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Barbara Peters of  North Belle Vernon and Paul and Cindy Peters of McDonough, Ga.; two step-grandchildren, Justin Peters and his wife Erin of  Locust Grove, Ga., and Lauren Heald and her husband Ryan of Canton, Ga.; and three step-great-grandchildren, Caleigh Peters, Owen Peters and Raegan Heald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Anderson Peters, on Nov. 18, 2019. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Mary Kay Glunt officiating. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The officers and members of First Presbyterian Church will meet in the funeral home at 7 p.m. Tuesday to pay their respects. Face masks are required in the funeral home.
